Peach Springs, AZ Two Car Crash Kills Eight, Mar 1959

EIGHT DEAD IN ARIZONA CRASH.

Peach Springs, Ariz. (UPI) - Eight persons were killed Sunday night and four were injured in a violent head-on two-car collision two miles west of Peach Springs on Highway 66.
All were killed outright. Most were pinned in the wreckage. The dead were from three states. Peach Springs in 30 miles east of Kingman, Ariz.
Arizona highway patrolman Randy Wakefield said a westbound 1956 sedan believed driven by JOE WILLIAMS, 32, of Peach Springs, apparently crossed the center line and struck an eastbound car driven by HENRY MANUEL GOKE, 38, of Albuquerque, N.M.
Killed with WILLIAMS were his wife, HATTIE MAE WILLIAMS, 24; JOHN COLLINS, 32, of Peach Springs, and his wife, MARY LIZA COLLINS, 25.
Killed with GOKE in his car were GERTRUDE CHAVEZ, 24, of Long Beach, Calif.; RICHARD TOBY CHAVEZ, her infant son; and JOSE CAMPBELL, 2, a girl whose relationship to the others was not learned immediately.
