OCEAN PARK. May 14.---By the capsizing of a launch off the Horseshoe pier this afternoon. Captain John Cochran, of Venice, and a companion from San Pedro whose name is unknown here were drowned in sight of 10,000 people who lined the shore, but were unable to render assistance on account of the heavy surf and lack of life-saving facilities.
