MAN IS CHARGED IN DEATH OF 5 -- MODESTO CRASH.

Modesto (AP) -- A 27-year-old man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in the deaths of five persons in a pile-up of three cars and a camper truck.
The California Highway Patrol said MALCOLM E. RICHMOND was booked on nine counts of felony drunken driving, five counts of vehicular manslaughter and one count of hit-run driving.
Dead in the Monday night crash were:
ETHEL EVELINE MILLER, 56.
EVELINE MILLER, 10, Ceres, her daughter.
JANET JOHNSON, 10, her granddaughter.
JOHN, 7, her grandson.
RUTH ANDREWS, 56, Riverbank.
The CHP said RICHMOND'S car tried to pass the ANDREWS car but sideswiped the northbound camper, which hit another car headon.
