2-CAR CRASH KILLS SEVEN.
Palm Springs, Calif. (AP) -- Seven persons were killed yesterday when a car traveling an estimated 80 to 90 m.p.h. hit another making a left turn at a desert intersection east of here.
The dead were:
JEAN M. F. DeLUZ, 51, Anaheim, Calif.
GERTRUDE VELTRE, 51, Arcadia, Calif., were in one car.
JACK W. FRIEDMAN, 72, and his wife RUTH.
HORACE PORTER, 74, and his wife MARTHA.
MRS. PEARL BAKER, all in the other car.

SEVEN PERSONS DIE IN GRINDING CRASH NEAR PALM SPRINGS.
Palm Springs, Calif. (UPI) - Seven persons were killed in a grinding two-car crash Wednesday when one of the autos containing five persons was struck broadside as it turned off Highway 60-70-90 about eight miles east of here.
All occupants in both cars were fatally injured.
California highway patrolmen said a car driven b y JEAN M.F. DELUZ, 50, Anaheim, Calif., smashed into the turning auto driven by JACK W. FRIEDMAN, 72, Banning, Calif. Patrolmen said the DELUZ car was speeding. No skid marks were found at the scene.
"We had to call two trucks to pull the cars apart," said Sgt. Lt. Baldwin.
The dead were, in the FRIEDMAN car, FRIEDMAN and his wife, MARTHA, about 65; their housekeeper, MRS. NORA PEARL BAKER, about 65; HORACE POTTER, 74, and his wife, RUTH, about 70, of Banning.
In the DELUZ car, DELUZ was killed along with his passenger, GERTRUDE VELTRE, 40, Arcadia, Calif.
