Three Passengers Die In Airplane Crash

PORTOLA, Calif., Sept. 5.—(AP)—Three passengers were killed and the pilot was injured dangerously by the crash of a sight-seeing plane in a take-off from Portola airport tonight.

The dead:

Helen James, 17, and Virginia James, 15, and Maurice Murray, 25.

With both legs broken and possible internal injuries, A. N. Hall, 40, the pilot, was near death in a Portion hospital.

News of the death of her two daughters caused a heart attack which may prove fatal to Mrs. James, her physicians said.
