Decota, CA Grand Hotel Fire, Aug 1895

Decota (Cal.), August 30. --This morning at 7:30 a fire broke out in the kitchen of the Grand Hotel at Niles. Before discovered it had made such headway that it could not be extinguished. The fire rapidly spread to the Fashion livery stable. The horses, harness, wagons and a few tons of hay were saved, but the building was lost.
