Hinton, Iowa Town Hall &
Blacksmith Shop Fire
January 1914
Hinton. - A fire which illuminated the
sky for miles around burned the town hall and
blacksmith
shop at Hinton. The fire was well under
way before it was discovered. It is
thought that the blaze started in the blacksmith
shop which was owned by
Fred Dalhman.
Everything is a total loss, including a $500
team of horses owned by
Henry Dalhman. The
total loss will exceed $5,000.
