Hanlontown, Iowa Tornado

DAMAGE BY STORM
Lives are Lost and Crops in Many Places
are Ruined
Twenty-five lives are reported to have been
lost and property damaged to the amount of
$500,000 in a tornado which swept over the
southern part of Minnesota, northern Iowa, the
southwestern end of Wisconsin and a part of
Illinois. Dispatches tell of death in
almost every point were the tornado struck.
A farmer, his wife and son were killed near
Mason City, Iowa, their home being destroyed
over their heads while they were in bed.

Clear Lake, Hanlontown and Lake Mills are
Hit
Mason City, Ia., Aug. 7. --
Clear
Lake, Hanlontown and Lake Mills were visited
by cyclones Tuesday evening, doing much damage.
Many barns and farm houses were destroyed.
One person was killed and several injured at
Hanlontown.

All the Fatalities Occurred in Hanlontown
- Much Stock Killed.
Des Moines, Ia., Aug 8, -- Final
reports from the storm-stricken district of
Northern Iowa indicate that four met death in
the tornadoes of Tuesday afternoon. The
dead, all of Hanlontown, are:
Ole Tweed, Ashland Tweed,
Mrs. Ashland Tweed and their son.

Mason City, Iowa, Aug. 7. -- Four
deaths resulted from the tornado which passed
through this section yesterday afternoon.
Ola Tweed,
of Hanlontown, aged 46 years;
Ashland Tweed,
of Joice, aged 30 and wife, and the son of
Ola Tweed. The
latter was killed in the field with his team.

Mason City, Iowa, August 7. -- Three
persons were killed and four injured and
thousands of dollars worth of damage was done
through this section of Iowa Tuesday evening by
a tornado.
The dead:
ASHLAND TWEED,
a farmer, of Hantontown, his wife and
son.
