Rockwell, Iowa Tornado
August 6, 1907
A tornado ... swept over the southern part of
Minnesota, northern Iowa, the southwestern end
of Wisconsin and a part of Illinois.... A half
dozen barns and four houses near Rockwell were
demolished, and the roof was blown from the
Catholic Church at Rockwell.

The heaviest damage to farmers was in
the vicinity of Rockwell, where twelve barns
were destroyed and much live stock was killed.

Twelve Barns Demolished Near Rockwell and
Crops Laid Waste
Rackwell [sic] reports 12 barns in its
vicinity destroyed and 15 head of stock killed.
The crops are damaged heavily but no one
seriously hurt. The Catholic church was
demolished. Fred
Gamatt, of Lake Mills, had his
shoulder crushed.
