Rolfe, Iowa Tornado

MOINES, May 25 -- A tornado struck the town
of Rolf, seventy miles west of here late
yesterday, killing Fong Foo, a laundryman,
fatally injuring a child and wrecking the state
building, the Crayton general store, Hotel
deMain and one or two other buildings.
Several residences were damaged.

Other newspaper accounts list the general store as "Crayon's
General Store".


Gilmore City, May 27 - - It is
estimated that the damage by the tornado at
Rolfe Sunday evening will aggregate $75,000.
nearly all the damage was done to the buildings
on the main street. Two hundred men worked
all day yesterday and today clearing away the
wreckage.
