Lightning Strikes Saloon
June 9, 1910
LIGHTNING PLAYED HAVOC
STRUCK WM. DAUBACH'S SALOON AND TORE HOLE IN
SIDE OF BUILDING.
Considerable damage was done at 3:30 o'clock on
Thursday afternoon when lightning struck the
building occupied by
WILLIAM DAUBACH, who conducts a
saloon on North Gold street. A number of
customers who were in the establishment at the
time were given quite a scare.
The building was struck on the outside, a big
hole being torn in the side wall. The lightning
then found its way into the saloon along the
electric light wires breaking the electric
globes and ripping off patches of wall paper.
It is said there was quite an electrical
display. MR. DAUBACH estimates his loss at about
$100.
