Kansas Town Windswept
Larned, Kan., June 20. - - A tornado swept through the west part of the
county and Rosell, a village 18 miles west of here, was struck and almost
completely wiped out of existence, two grain elevators and every house in the
place being swept away. A mile north, of Rosell the farmhouse of
Edward
Christian was unroofed and one side blown in. Three miles northeast barns
and outhouses were demolished. At Burdette not a building in town escaped
uninjured while many houses were completely demolished.
James M.
Christian, a farmer, had his foot badly crushed and
Ray Bindley was seriously
injured by boards flying from a demolished house. At and near Jetmore the
storm did considerable damage to buildings and crops.
