Wichita, Kansas Area Tornado

Wichita., Kan., May 23.-- . . . When the storm struck Wichita three persons were seriously injured and
a dozen bruised. . . .
Mrs. Charles Minor, 70, who lived in a small frame building near here,
was not expected to live as a result of injuries she received when here
home was struck by the storm. With her husband she was rescued from the
twisted wreckage by neighbors. Parts of their home were scattered
over a ten acre field.

Wichita Kan., May 24. - - Rescuers in the
devastated zone west and north of Wichita, which
was visited by a tornado Tuesday night brought
additional injured persons
today
and damaged to property mounted. Hundreds
of hogs and chickens were killed while
incomplete reports show loss of cattle and
horses.
The twister first struck at Clonnel, 20 miles
southwest of Wichita on the Orient where it
destroyed the Joe Saybacker
and T. Kenise lumber
yard, moved the catholic church from its
foundation and completely wrecked the
Ben Dryer
home on the outskirts of the little town. Three
farm houses south and southwest of the place
were partially destroyed by the twister.
