Lightning Strike
June
18, 1908
KILLED BY LIGHTNING.
Farmer Near Plymouth Meets Instant Death in
Storm.
BEATRICE, Neb., June 19. --OTTO
KNOCHEN, a prominent young farmer
residing near Plymouth, west of Beatrice, was
struck by lightning and instantly killed
yesterday afternoon about 4 o’clock during a
thunder storm. Knochen was standing in his farm
yard when struck by the bolt. A farm hand by the
name of Conrad Arnt,
who was standing near Knochen, was knocked down
and stunned but soon recovered and is now
suffering no ill affects. Knochen was about
twenty-four years of age. He is survived by a
young wife to whom he was married but a short
time ago.
