Tornado
May 13, 1909
Beaver City, Neb., May 13 -- The
protracted drouth was broken last night by a
light shower from the southwest with
a strong wind and hail. In Spring Green
precinct,
twelve miles southwest of here, the
storm was in the form of a small cyclone.
The roof of the house of
Irvin Babcock was blown
away and carried a long distance. An
outbuilding at the farm of
Henry Webber was
carried nearly a quarter of a mile. Wagons were
lifted n the air and carried away. Fences were
torn down, windmills wrecked and stock killed.
The storm covered a small area, but it could be
heard for miles.
