HAMPTON BEACH SAVED FROM CONFLAGRATION
HAMPTON BEACH, N H. JUNE 24--Fire
departments of six cities and towns fought early
today to save buildings in congested section of
Hampton Beach when fire broke out at 3 o’clock
in a garage. The garage housing 22 automobiles
at the time, was destroyed, a hotel adjoining
suffered heavy damage and two cottages were
burned, but the prevailing dead calm made it
possible for the firemen to prevent a further
spread. The damage was estimated unofficially at
80,000.
