FLAMES MENACE TOWN

Six Towns Send Aid, Saving Congested Section of Resort.

Hampton Beach, N. H., June 25--
Fire departments of six cities and towns fought to save buildings in the congested section of Hampton Beach, when fire broke out in a garage owned by Mrs. Laura Bristol.

The garage, housing twenty-two automobiles, was destroyed, a hotel adjoining suffered heavy damage and two cottages were burned. The damage was estimated unofficially at $80,000.

The fire was caused, firemen said by a short circuit of wires in an automobile. A series of explosions resulted as the fire reached the gas tanks of cars in the garage for storage or repair.
