1784-1879
Alonzo, a
son of Major William H.
Ballard, was burnt up with the house
of Mr. B. while the parents were at church.
Levi Bartlett,
an insane man, lost his life in a house that was
consumed by fire, near
Richard Bartlett’s, in the year 1800
Cyrus Colby’s
house was destroyed by fire about the year 1840,
and a child of his perished in the flames.
Mrs. John Foster
lost her life from her clothes taking fire,
about the year 1845.
Capt. Joseph Jewell’s
buildings were destroyed by fire in 1868, and a
son of his perished in the flames.
