Large Fire in Brooklyn
Dispatch to the GAZETTE AND BULLETIN.
New York, Oct. 19. Fire broke out early this
morning in the four story building No. 242
Plymouth street, Brooklyn, and the buildings
from No. 240 to No. 252 were more or less
damaged. The buildings belonged to the
Carey
estate, and the loss to them is estimated at
$100,000, while the loss on stock and fixtures
of the various tenants is estimated at $100,000
more. The principal losers are the
Rice box and
toy company, William N.
Peck, wall paper manufacturers, and
John Brady,
manufacturer of electric instruments. The loss
of these tenants will aggregate $50,000.
