Bainbridge, Ohio Train Wreck
August 1895
MAY BE BURIED IN WRECK.
Three Boys and Four Tramps Thought to Be Killed.
Springfield, O,. Aug. 14. --- It is now
feared that three boys missing from Greenfield
and four tramps are buried in the awful Ohio
Southern bridge wreck at Bainbridge. The boys
every day rode to the water tank at Paint creek.
The remains of
Engineer RADCLIFFE were recovered
Tuesday morning. He was faithful to death, his
hand being found on the lever. Farmer
Sam Brown and
wife, who live near the collapsed bridge, saw
the wreck from their porch. They state the
whistle kept blowing until silenced by the
water. Thousands of people are on the
scene.
