Pawnee, Oklahoma Flood
May-June 1908
Guthrie, Ok. May 25 - The flood
situation throughout Oklahoma is vastly improved
today, although there has been but little
traffic resumed on the railroads because of many
brides being out....Practically all of the
bridges are out on the Santa Fe between Guthrie
and Pawnee. In order to save railroad
bridges long strings of freight cars were used
to weight them down, and armies of men with long
poles kept the drift away.
