Pittsburg, Pa., May 19.--Ten men attempted to cross the Allegheny river on a raft near Springdale, Pa., this afternoon, and when in the center of the stream, the raft was swamped by the rough current and the men were precipitated into the water.

Four men succeeded in reaching the shore, but the others were drowned. Their names are:

NEWTON NEAL

EDWIN OMEN
