Six Men Drown
Springdale, Pennsylvania

19, 1898
Pittsburg, Pa., May 19.--Ten men attempted
to cross the Allegheny river on a raft
near
Springdale, Pa., this afternoon, and when in the
center of the stream, the raft was swamped by
the rough current and the men were precipitated
into the water.
Four
men succeeded in reaching the shore, but the
others were drowned. Their names
are:

QUIN
JOHN
HERSH
FRANK
STEPP
NEWTON NEAL
EDWIN
OMEN
