Fire at Imperial, Near Pittsburg, Destroys
Four Buildings
Pittsburg, Feb. 19 - - Fire destroyed
the central part of Imperial. Four
buildings
burned,
including the town high school. The
greatest excitement was caused as pupils made
their escape from the building, many of them
leaving some of their wraps and all of their
books behind. The loss was about $12,000.
The following buildings were destroyed:
Gould's blacksmith shop, roller skating rink,
McKane and
Lee's hardware store and the old
Imperial hotel, now a residence and occupied by
eight families.
