McDonald, Pennsylvania
Shield's Garage
Fire
July 1920
On Wednesday morning about six o'clock a fire
broke out in SHIELD's Garage
on West State St. which in a very short time
completely destroyed the building and its
contents. The cause of the fire is not known.
Everything in the building was totally destroyed
including all accessories for cars and a car
belonging to Mr. Archie HERON. The adjoining
building which was used as a plumbing and tin
shop by Mr. HARTMAN was damaged badly. For a
while it looked very serious as many buildings
of frame structures were near by, but the
firemen worked hard and the good water pressure
which was available was in their favor.
