Struck an Electric Car
A Richmond Fire Truck in Collision, Injuring Several Persons
Richmond, Va., May 23. -- The building of the Southern Manufacturing
Company was destroyed by fire last night. The company manufactured ground
coffee, hominy, spices and flavoring extracts. Loss on stock and
machinery, $35,000 and $40,000; insured. Loss on building $15,000;
insured.
The Laurel Street hook and ladder truck collided with an electric car filled
with passengers. J. H. Powell had his right leg broken.
Walter Carthright
was badly cut about the face, and Driver J. H. Gibbs of the truck, had his
fingers broken.
