Horseshoeing Accident
August 4, 1906
HENRY FRANK Injured While Shoeing A Horse
Henry Frank,
horseshoer at Voigt’s blacksmith shop on Church
street, was the victim of a peculiar accident
Saturday. He had a horse in hand with one of its
hind feet held between his legs. A rig went by
in the street which frightened the horse and the
latter made several ineffectual attempts to get
its foot loose. Then it gave one vigorous push
backward and Mr. Frank
was thrown off his feet and fell
against the anvil with such force that he lost
consciousness and lay on the floor for some
moments in a dazed condition.
Dr. R. B. Smiley
was called and found a severe internal abrasion
of the ribs but no broken bones.
