Little Green Lake, Wisconsin Drowning
May
1879
A case of drowning occurred on Little Green
Lake a week ago.
Christian Keuhn, aged 63, and a young
man named Kertzbein
went out in a boat fishing. Keuhn fell
overboard and catching the side of the boat
tipped it over. Three ladies named
Mrs. James Densmore,
Sarah Densmore and
Lillie Densmore, were out boating and
went to their rescue. Keuhn went under, but Mrs.
D. caught Kertzbein by the hair and towed him in
that manner to shore, where he arrived as near
dead as alive. Keuhn's body was subsequently
fished up.
