Malick Creamery Fire
August 3, 1906
LOSS IN CREAMERY FIRE RUNS UPWARD OF
$1,000.
The loss on the Malick
creamery, destroyed by fire Friday afternoon,
will run upwards of $1,000. The fire, as
previously stated, is supposed to have
originated from the fire under the boiler but
just how is not known. A few light articles were
removed from the lower floor but the general
creamery equipment was burned. A large quantity
of household goods belonging to
Charles U. Malick,
which were stored on the second floor, were also
destroyed. The building was a story and a half
frame structure and was erected four or five
years ago. It stood at some distance from the
residence and other farm buildings, so the
latter were not injured. The household goods had
been insured while in the house but the policy
had not been altered to cover them in the barn.
Mr. Malick was unable to state positively today
whether of not the building was insured.
