Unity, Wisconsin Fire
January 29, 1909
Unity
was visited by a destructive fire early Friday
morning, when the following buildings were
burned:
Kop's
Hotel, furniture saved and building insured
Ewert Saloon, stock saved and building not insured
Button &
Munbrue hardware store a total loss
save some insurance
Fritz
feed store a total loss and only partially
insured
Zell
Bros. dry goods store, everything burned, and
partially insured.
A family residing upstair narrowly escaped
without their clothing. This store was
next to the hardware store which was completely
enveloped in flames when discovered.
Weide meat market was a total loss and no
insurance.
