Millston, Wisconsin Tornado

Paul, July 6. -- Twenty-one persons are
reported to have been killed in the tornado
which swept a path 100 miles long and mile to a
few rods in width through Western Wisconsin....
The two children of
Joseph Buckner a Jackson county
farmer, were killed in a peculiar manner.
Buckner saw the storm coming, and with his
children took refuge in the cellar. The
house was carried away. A horse was blown
out of the stable and carried through the air
until it fell on the family crouching the the
uncovered cellar.
Edna and Will Buckner were killed
by the horse while Mr. and Mrs. Buckner were
injured. One boy of the Buckner family was
blown away before could reach the cellar and
severely killed.

Two children of
Joseph Buckner, a Jackson county

were killed in a cellar. Buckner saw the storm
coming and with his children took refuge in the
cellar. The house was carried away and a
horse which had been blown out of the barn and
carried high into the air fell upon the family
crouching in the cellar.
Edna and Will Buckner
were killed, while Mr. and Mrs. Buckner were
badly injured. One boy of the Buckner
family was blown away before he could reach the
cellar and was badly injured.
More than 25 farm houses were demolished in
Jackson county.

The full effect of the storm was first felt
at Millston. Traveling south, it struck Warrens
Mills, where buildings were torn down and a
number of people hurt. The crop was
completely ruined and farm buildings torn down
in a line across the county to Oakdale, were the
whole town was torn into pieces.
