Entertainer is Killed.
Neillsville, Wis, July 5. --
Lyman Charles
was killed in the cyclone here Wednesday night.
About ten persons were badly injured. The
cyclone seemed to originate near Tioga and
taking a southeasterly course, came within half
a mile of this city. Its path was twelve
miles long and one-fourth of a mile wide.
Fifteen buildings were destroyed and thousands
of trees uprooted. Another cyclone passed
through Pray, killing three persons.
Mrs. August Beyers
and her son were killed near here. A
daughter of Oscar
Fricke, register of deeds of Clark
county was seriously injured. At the home
of Lyman Charles, near Neillsville, a social
gathering was in progress when the storm struck
the house. The host was caught beneath the
ruins of his house and fatally injured, dying
while being taken to a hospital. One of
his guests also was probably fatally injured,
while several others were seriously hurt.

One death is reported from the vicinity of
Neillsville, where an aged resident had sought
safety in a field, but was found dead after the
storm had passed. A number of other were
injured, several of them very seriously.
Houses, barns and other buildings were
demolished throughout Clark, Monroe and other
counties in the state...
