7 IN FAMILY DIE AS AUTO HITS TRAIN.
Palmetto, Fla. (AP) - Seven members of a Tampa family were killed Sunday when their automobile crashed into a passenger train, then burst apart and burned.
Sgt. E. L. Brown of the Florida Highway Patrol reported the auto hit the engine of an Atlantic Coast Line passenger train, bounced against a blinker signal, then careened about 75 feet and burst into flames.
MRS. JULIA BEARDEN, 68; her son, WILBUR C. BEARDEN, 31; his wife, RUTH IRENE BEARDEN, 34; three children of MR. and MRS. BEARDEN - TERRY, 12; GERALD, 8; and KAY, 10 - and HORACE FRANKLIN MORRIS, 12, brother of MRS. RUTH IRENE BEARDEN.
The officer said all seven were killed by the impact although some of the bodies were burned.
