AMBULANCE PLANE CARRYING INFANT CRASHES IN SWAMP.
Augusta, Ga. (AP) -- Four people, including a day-old infant in an incubator, were killed when an ambulance plane crashed in a swamp Saturday, authorities said.
The plane was flying through a heavy thunderstorm when it crash in the Phinizy Swamp, about 1 1/2 miles north of Bush Field Airport in east Georgia, said Kathleen Bergen, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration in Atlanta.
The eight-passenger plane, with four people aboard, was coming in for a landing when it went down, said Pamela Tucker, director of the Richmond County Emergency Management Agency.
Authorities said the four people aboard were the pilot, the baby and two Medical College of Georgia Hospital nurses. Their names were not released.
