Millen, GA Train Wreck, Sept 1858
Augusta, GA, Sept. 16–A dispatch from Millen (the junction of the Augusta and Savannah Railroad) states that the down train from Augusta last night run (sic) off in a wash caused by heavy rains, ten miles this side of Millen at No. 1. The Engineer by the name of NORTHY and two firemen killed and a machinist (name not given) mortally wounded. Engine and box cars a perfect wreck–no passengers injured. Trains will be much detained–no mail from Savannah this morning.
