Dana, IL Train Wreck, Jul 1880

INDIANAPOLIS.

On Saturday morning a freight and passenger engine on the I. D. & S. Railroad collided at Dana, a station sixty-five miles west of this city. Billy Noble, a fireman on one of the engines, had a leg broken and sustained internal injuries. Both engines were wrecked.

I believe this accident happened at Dana, Indiana. I have not confirmed that independently but Dana, Indiana, is located about 65 west southwest of Indianapolis. It is the birthplace of celebrated journalist Ernie Pyle.
