AVIATOR IS KILLED.
AIR MAIL PILOT LOSES WAY IN FOG AND PLANE CRASHES.
Chicago, Oct. 16. -- (UP) -- Pilot McMULLEN of the United States air mail service, was killed today when his plane fell at Batavia. McMULLEN left Chicago on the Omaha mail route early today.
The aviator apparently lost his way in a heavy fog. GEORGE WHITE, a farmer, and his wife, saw the machine drop. They hurried to the plane.
There was an explosion and the machine burst into flames immediately after it dropped. By the time they had pulled the aviator's body from the burning wreckage he was dead.
