Fox Lake, IL Drowning, Aug 1910

Chicago.---Joseph Gardner, a fireman on the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railroad, was drowned at Fox Lake. Gardner, an expert swimmer, left his sister's cottage, where he was spending a vacation, at 1:30, and swam until 3:30 when friends on the shore heard him call for help. Efforts to save him were in vain. He was single, twenty-five years of age, and had been employed by the road for three years. His body was recovered and taken to Antioch.
