Hayden, IN Henry Sullivan Killed by Engine, July 1907

Seymour Daily Republican newspaper, Seymour, IN
Monday 15 July 1907; Front Page, Column 2

The funeral services and burial of Henry (Mock) Sullivan occurred in Jennings County Sunday forenoon.

Otto Sullivan and Mark Williams came home from Hayden about three o'clock Saturday afternoon. They stated that the accident happened at the first dirt road crossing west of Hayden, perhaps some time between ten and twelve o'clock Friday night.

The crossing is about a quarter of a mile from the station at Hayden. Mr. Sullivan was in Hayden about ten o'clock and told some of his friends he was going to Seymour. It is supposed that he was coming here to go fishing as he had told his mother he was coming home some Saturday to go fishing.

Whether he was attempting to get on the train or was on the train and fell off, or whether he was walking down the track or was crossing the track no one seems to know.
