Ft Wayne, IN Railroad Shop Accident, Aug 1902

HAS A BAD INJURY.

Charles Groves, 18 years of age, a boilermaker's helper in the Pennsylvania shops, was painfully injured at 10 o'clock Friday morning. While driving a rivet a piece of the steel flew with fearful force, imbedding itself so deeply in Groves' right thigh that Dr. Stemen, who probed for the fragment, has as yet been unable to locate it. A vein was severed and the wound bled profusely. The injury promises to be quite a serious affair. Groves lives at 438 Lasselle street.
