Sunday afternoon [19 September 1915] about two o’clock while Adolph GRAGE and Carl DILLINGHAM were returning from Arcadia and on the road north of town, near the Jurgen HANSEN home, the car driven by Adolph became unmanageable and was wrecked. They were driving along at a fair speed when the one wheel broke. The car turned over several times and when help came it was found out that Adolph was unhurt but Carl lay unconscious on the ground. He was brought to Manning and put in the hands of physicians but failed to recover consciousness and died Tuesday afternoon [21 September 1915] about five o’clock.
