The building was used as a depot for all the railroads centering in this city, with ticket and telegraph offices, baggage and express, and waiting rooms, the upper story being occupied as a hotel, under the management of W. C. Johnston. All the depot and hotel furniture, excepting the carpets, were saved. The total loss is about $125,000, upon which there is an insurance of $50,000.
