Muncie, KS Train Wreck, Sept 1897

WRECK ON THE UNION PACIFIC.

EDWARDSVILLE, Kas., Sept. 20.---A Rock Island passenger train, westbound, running over the Union Pacific stock train collided headon tonight two miles west of Muncie. Both locomotives were completely wrecked, the baggage car was badly shattered, and several of the stock cars were wrecked, but no one was killed. Engineer James W. Scarff of Kansas City and Engineer Charles Goodall of Chicago are seriously injured.
