Junction City, Kan. (UPI) - Six persons were killed and another critically injured shortly after midnight today, when two cars collided head-on on U.S. 40 seven miles west of here.
The victims included a Chapman, Kas., couple and their 14-year-old son, and three soldiers stationed at Fort Riley, Kan. A fourth soldier was in critical condition at the base hospital.
The highway patrol said the car carrying the four soldiers went off the road and struck a reflectorized post. It swerved back across the road into the path of a car driven by THOMAS EDWARD LORSON, 53, of Chapman.
He and his wife were killed instantly, and 14-year-old BILLY LORSON died some eight hours later in City Hospital.
