TRAIN-CAR CRASH KILLS 5 IN NEWTON.

Newton, Kan. (AP) - An automobile rammed into the side of a Santa Fe mail train Saturday and the five motorists - all Kansans - were killed.
The accident occurred at a county grade crossing five miles south of Newton. The car hit the third diesel unit of Santa Fe mail train No. 8, eastbound for Kansas City.
From papers on the bodies, Coroner Carl Tompkins identified the dead as:
FRANK EDMISTON, 56;
FERN EDMISTON, 50;
KEITH EDMISTON, 22;
and CHARLES EDMISTON, 17, all of Benton;
and WESLEY HENDRICKS, 15, of Kingman.
The train is the companion to Santa Fe westbound No. 7 which collided with a work train at Hardin, Mo., Thursday, killing one engineer and injuring two trainmen.
