WRECK VICTIMS BROUGHT HERE
Pullman in Santa Fe Train Derailed at Hartland, Kas.
Passengers arriving in the Union Depot last night told of a wreck on the Santa Fe at Hartland, Kas., near Dodge City, at 3 o'clock yesterday morning. One man suffered three broken ribs and several women were injured.
A broken rail caused two tourist sleepers and one standard sleeper in Santa Fe train No. 10 to leave the track and roll down a 10-foot embankment. Mrs. Z. E. Huckabee of Los Angeles stopped at the Blossom House last night and will remain until she recovers from a fractured shoulder and bruised head. She was in the standard sleeper. None of the tourists was injured.
The train was delayed an hour, until the passengers in the sleepers were transferred to the chair car and day coach. Other Santa Fe trains from the West were delayed by the accident.
