Fluchtown, KY Railroad Accident, Jan 1890

KILLED IN A WRECK.

Cincinnati, O., Jan. 9. -- At Fluchtown, Ky., near Newport, the rails on the Louisville & Nashville road spread and caused a wreck of an engine backing toward Newport. The tender was forced up the side of an embankment and was overturned with the engine.
CLARENCE MESFORD, night clerk at the round-house was instantly killed.
Engineer CHARLES BLUGG was badly cut about the head.
Fireman GEORGE COLLOTY received painful injuries.
THOMAS McCUNE, riding on the engine, was also hurt.
