CAR-TRAIN CRASH KILLS 4 TEEN-AGERS.

Crittenden, Ky. (AP) - A car driving through an unlighted railroad crossing at night was struck by a freight train, killing four teen-agers and seriously injuring a fifth.
The crash involving a Norfolk Southern train occurred late Wednesday about three miles south of Crittenden on U.S. 25 in rural, northern Kentucky.
There are no warning gates or lights at the crossing, only a wooden railroad sign, said Grant County Coroner Marylee Willoby.
Fourteen-year-old LARRY RIPPENTROP was in serious condition Thursday in the hospital.
Killed were:
LIANA TOLL, 16;
her sister, BERTHA J. TOLL, 14;
JESSIE HAGAR, 14;
and STEVE CHANDLER, 16.
