JIMMY WEDELL KILLED IN PLANE CRASH.
WELL KNOWN PILOT AND PLANE DESIGNER KILLED IN LOUISIANA.
Patterson, La., June 25. - (UP) - Grieving friends of JAMES ROBERT (JIMMY) WEDELL, international famous speed pilot and plane designer, slammed the hangar door today on a half completed speed plane. It will never be completed or flown.
WEDELL was killed yesterday when the plane in which he was giving a novice a first flying lesson crashed from 200 feet. The student, Frank Sneeringer, not seriously hurt, could give only a vague account of the accident, but witnesses said he must have "frozen the stick."
WEDELL was one of the best known pilots in the world and held many records. Flying ships he designed and built himself he held among others the world's speed record and several distance records.
