DROWNINGS.

Georgia Business Man Loses Life at Old Orchard.

IN OLD ORCHARD SURF.

Old Orchard, Me., June 28.—R. D. Blood, aged about {ineligible} years, a prominent resident of Boston, Georgia, who has for a number of years been engaged in the grain and provision business, lost his life at noon today while bathing. Dr. E. J. Cook of Erie, Pa., who is summering here, assisted by several Old Orchard people, worked for an hour over the body, after it was recovered, but life was extinct Blood was probably seized with cramps, although he may have been stricken with apoplexy, and was probably dead when taken from the water. He had been stopping at a hotel here with his son for several weeks past and had been a regular visitor here for many years. He leaves a widow in the South, where the body will be taken for burial.
