Baltimore, MD Clifton Park Woods Fire, Feb 1915

City And County Fire Fighters Called To Protect Home.

A fire broke out yesterday afternoon in the stretch of woodland in Clifton Park between the Harford and Belair roads, threatening the house of Charles Hoeckel and two large stacks of hay on his property.

The flames gained considerable headway before they were discovered, and when they got beyond the control of the workmen at the park word was sent to Engine Companies Nos. 14 and 19, of the city department, and the Gardenville Engine Company. Before the flames could be checked about 100 acres had been burned over.

The Gardenville company protected the home of Mr. Hoeckel and the stacks of hay, which were in the county. Many persons out walking in the park and along the Harford and Belair roads were attracted by the spectacle.
