Drowns In Quarry
Also drowned yesterday was William Carpenter, 15 year old Baltimore boy who went under while swimming in a gravel quarry in Lansdowne, Baltimore County.
Police said Carpenter apparently tired as he swam across the quarry. A rescue attempt was made by one of two companions, Stephen Marris. The body was recovered in 25 feet of water by rescue squads from Arbutus and Brooklyn Park.
